Slickee Boys: Gotta Tell Me Why

Memories of the Eighties in DC. I probably saw the Slickees two dozen times at places like the Wax Museum near 7th and D, the Psychadeli in Bethesda near the original WHFS studios on Cordell Avenue, LaPlata Beach and Colony Ballroom at the University of Maryland, and other places that have slipped my mind. I think I lost two pairs of glasses slam dancing at different Slickees shows in College Park.

The Slickees were campy but still rocked with their own unique combination of garage band psychadelia, punk, and eighties whatever.

I too love the band. Their last couple reunion shows have been awesome too.

I hear there may be more releases coming, but for now, pick up the new Last Call Records double CD.

Does anyone have any live shows of the band?

There is a Slickees live album called Live at Last. It is so-so. It was recorded in France and while it has the three core members of Marshall Keith, Kim Kane, and Mark Noone, it is not their peak lineup which would have John Chumbris on bass and "Dacoit" Dan Palenski on drums.

Also, another great DC band from the eighties was Circus Mind. The two cassettes I had of theirs have completed disintegrated.
