I believe that this is going to be good in the long term, but that there is going to be some serious doo-doo in the short run. How long is long term? Your guess is as good as mine.

The problems for the short term are obvious. Part of the long term good may be that the general public will see through the media's anti-catholic bias. Rational people will not accept "We will kill anyone who calls us intolerant" as tolerance no matter how the New York Times tries to spin it.
